Bulls Advance To CBI Semifinals With Win Over Utah Valley

The USF Bulls (21-13) knocked off Utah Valley (25-10) 66-57 on Monday evening at the Yuengling Center.

USF used a 7-0 run in the first half to build an eight point lead before halftime, but Utah Valley answered with a 7-0 run of their own to give USF just a 33-32 lead at halftime. In the second half, it was a 16-2 run by the Bulls as the half wound on that would push the Bulls to the commanding lead they would need to close out the win.

The Bulls were led by Alexis Yetna's 13th double double of the season as he had a game--high 18 points and ten rebounds. The freshman became the fifth Bull in school history to grab at least 300 rebounds in a single season - the Bulls also set a new single-season rebounding record with 1,322. David Collins added 17 points and five steals, while Laquincy Rideau chipped in fourteen points of his own in the win. The Wolverines of Utah State were led by 12 points from Ben Nakwaasah.

USF now advances to the Final Four of the CBI and will host Loyola-Marymount at the Yuengling Center on Thursday night. The battle to advance to the CBI Championship Game will begin at 7 PM Thursday.
