UPDATE: 10:11am
(Via Tampa Bay Buccaneers Communications) - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today the team has released defensive end Vinny Curry.
Curry played in 12 games for Tampa Bay in 2018, with seven starts, recording 21 tackles (five for loss) and 2.5 sacks.
According to the Tampa Bay Times' Rick Stroud, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are releasing DE Vinny Curry after a single season with the franchise.
Curry signed with the Buccaneers following a tenure with the 2017 Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, but had a sub par season with the Bucs as he only amased 2.5 sacks with 21 tackles. Curry signed as a starter for the Buccaneers front four, but eventually lost his starting job due to Carl Nassib who was picked up by the Buccaneers off waivers from the Cleveland Browns and was more productive than Curry.
Curry was due to make eight million dollars in 2019, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will face no penalty for releasing him.
